Your vehicle must have a fixed head type body.
For rear-loading wheelchair access vehicles
Rear-loading wheelchair accessible vehicles do not need a partition and can use one front passenger seat.
If a partition is fitted it should:
- extend the full width and height of the vehicle interior
- have a glazed upper portion without tint, allowing passengers to see the meter
- include a way for the fare to be paid without leaving the vehicle
For all other vehicle types
If your vehicle is not rear-loading:
- a partition must separate the rear passengers from the driver and include a way for the fare to be paid without leaving the vehicle
- the partition should extend the full width and height of the vehicle interior and allow the rear seat occupants to see the meter
- use of the front passenger seat is not permitted when a partition is installed
Running boards
Running boards are allowed if fitted by the manufacturer and must not increase the vehicle's width at its widest part. The boards should be 5 inches wide and fully usable as a step.
