The Family Hub Network aims to deliver sustainable, better connection by linking community partners to the Family Hub service offer. Access to free training will help staff and volunteers understand what services are available, and how to signpost families to these services, linking families to the right information at the earliest opportunity.
The Family Hub Network grants include the Volunteer Grant and the Community Chest Grant.
Volunteer Grant
The Family Hub Network Volunteer Grant is a key element of the Family Hub Network. It is an opportunity for organisations to play a part in the development of volunteers who will support families and help in their start to a great life.
Successful grant applicants will:
- recruit
- host
- induct
- supervise
- provide training (including safeguarding training)
- attend free Early Help training sessions
- risk assess and support Family Hub Network volunteers
Successful organisations will be committed to becoming a Family Hub Network Member. Their staff and volunteers will promote the Family Hub and Start for Life service offer to families who attend local community-based activity, engaging both parents and carers with children's play.
Community Chest Grant
The Family Hub Network Community Chest Grant aims to support partners that deliver community-based activity, which actively engages parents and carers with children’s play. The fund may be used for suitable learning resources for the child's age and stage of development, for example:
- sensory resources
- a nursing chair
- early years resources
- resources to support special educational needs and/or disabilities
Successful organisations will be committed to becoming a Family Hub Network Member. This will involve attending free Early Help training to understand what services are available to families, and how to register and signpost families to the Family Hub offer, providing families with the right information at the right time.
Who can apply
Organisations who work with children and families from pregnancy to 19 years, or up to 25 years for those with special educational needs and disabilities, are eligible to apply.
Priority will be given to local community partners, who deliver free, not for profit, open access, inclusive play activity sessions for children, young people, and their parent/carers.
