There is an increasing demand for social care services that is set against a changing landscape and challenging financial context.
We are ensuring that the social care workforce has the knowledge, skills and resources needed to be able to respond to these changes and demands.
What is in the Strategy
The Workforce Development Strategy sets out how we will work in partnership with care providers, health colleagues and partners to create a workforce that is pivotal in the city’s source of care and support in the years ahead.
It follows our Adult Social Care Strategy, A New Design for Adult Social Care and market position statements, which launched over the last year.
We’ve listened to what our workforce have said, and their feedback has been used to develop the strategy and the delivery plan.
What we want to achieve
Over the next three years, we aim to set precedent in how we value our social care workforce.
We will do this through responding to the feedback of our workforce, Sheffield citizens and our partners.
We intend for this to make our workforce feel engaged and empowered, and also confident enough to continuously develop, improve and collaborate for the benefit of the city.
Social Care Policy Committee 2023
The strategy and delivery plan were formally agreed at our Adult Health and Social Care Policy Committee on 16 March 2023.
We will work with our workforce to refresh this plan each year.
