The Sheffield Equality Partnership (SEP), previously known as the Equality Hub Network, is an independent advisory group established by Sheffield City Council to create a space that enables our diverse communities to have greater voice and influence over decisions in the city.
It complements the Local Area Committees but recognises that groups who share protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 often work city wide rather than geographically.
There are 7 individual partnerships representing the following communities:
- Age Equality Partnership (intergenerational)
- Race Equality Partnership
- Carers' Equality Partnership
- Disability Equality Partnership (all impairments)
- LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and other sexual orientations and gender identities) Equality Partnership
- Religion/Belief/No Belief Partnership
- Women's Partnership
Priorities
The priorities over the next few years will be working with our communities on the City Goals, Council Equality Objectives, Council consultations and working within Local Area Communities.
We will continue to communicate with you about equality and engagement issues via the Newsletter.
