Second homes and empty properties
There are no discounts for any second, empty or unfurnished homes. You will need to pay your Council Tax charge in full.
This includes properties that are:
- uninhabitable due to undergoing major works or being structurally altered
- unoccupied but furnished between tenancies
If you want help or advice trying to sell your property please contact our private sector housing team by emailing phs@sheffield.gov.uk.
Empty and unfurnished homes
Properties that are left empty and unfurnished in the long term will face increased Council Tax charges known as Long Term Empty Premiums (LTE).
If you are the owner of a property that attracts an LTE charge and you are having difficulty paying it please email council.tax@sheffield.gov.uk.
