Enforcement costs
Enforcement costs are charges set by the government to cover the administrative costs of claiming a debt and, if necessary, the costs of seizing property from the debtor and the costs of selling this property.
You will have been told in your letter what enforcement costs you have been charged and they'll be included in the amount we're asking you to repay.
These costs are:
- standard enforcement notice: £75
- enforcement agent visit to take control of goods: £235
- enforcement visit to remove goods: £110
(If you owe more than £1,500 there will be an additional charge of 7.5% of the value of your total debt above £1,500).
You'll be charged for any storage, locksmith or court application fees that the collection and storage of your goods requires.
Repaying your debt could also require selling your property at auction, in which case these costs will be added to how much you need to pay.
