As a private hire or hackney carriage driver you need to have a good knowledge of Sheffield and the area that you will drive in. You should not need to use satnav or any electronic navigation devices.

The Knowledge Test is valid for one year from the date you passed.
How to apply
The Knowledge Test is a computer-based test that you take at our office. You will need to make an appointment online to do this.
The cost for a Knowledge Test is £87.
Passing the Knowledge Test
You will need to score at least 80% in each section to pass the Knowledge Test.
If you fail the Knowledge Test, we cannot refund your fee and you will have to pay to take the test again.
