If a child is in immediate danger please contact the Police by calling 999.
The Sheffield Safeguarding Hub is the first point of contact for all new child protection concerns. If you are worried that a child or young person is at risk of, or is being hurt, abused or neglected please contact us. We will make sure that your concern is dealt with quickly and appropriately.
You will speak to a trained social worker in confidence. You do not have to give your name if you do not want to.
The social worker will:
- take information from you
- make a decision on how the concern will be dealt with and which professionals will be involved
- tell you what will happen next and update you of the outcome
Our teams are made up of social workers, domestic abuse workers, Police and health professionals who are located together in the same building. This means we can share relevant information and work together to make sure concerns are dealt with quickly and by the right person.
Professionals reporting concerns
We will ask you to follow up your contact by completing a Multi-Agency Confirmation Form, which can be found on the Safeguarding website. If you have identified a family as needing some support but you do not consider it to be a child protection risk then please contact Early Help services.
