School budgets

The School Budgets 2025-26 papers will set out full details of the schools' budget settlement for the financial year 2025 to 2026. The papers are available in the February meeting of the Sheffield Education Funding Forum.

This includes early estimates of funding being made available by the Government through the Pupil Premium Grant.

Mainstream schools and academies NNDR payments (schools business rates)

The Department for Education (DfE) will continue to pay all mainstream school’s rates bills direct, this includes academies. Nursery schools are out of scope and should still pay their own rates bill.

Mainstream schools will receive a copy of the rates bill. This will be for information only. Please do not pay the rates bill.

As previously advised, academies should pay previous years bills adjustments. They should then claim the funding back through the portal as before.
