Accessibility

The Central Library was built in the 1930s and is now a Grade II listed building. As such, access for people with limited mobility is not as good as we would like. Improving access is an important part of long-term plans for the Library.

• there are disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders outside the Central Library building – this is restricted for 3 hours (with no subsequent return for 3 hours)
• we have lift access trough the door on Arundel Gate (on the opposite side of the road to Sheffield Hallam University)
• we welcome assistance dogs
• there is an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities on the ground floor (please ask staff for directions if needed)
