We produce a number of health needs assessments. These are the means by which we assess the current and future health, care and wellbeing needs of the local population.
Health needs assessments are used to develop and evaluate Sheffield’s joint health and wellbeing strategy.
Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) provides over-arching information on the current and future health and wellbeing needs of Sheffield people. It provides the evidence base for the joint health and wellbeing strategy and the context for all other health needs assessment for the City.
It also contains:
- other health needs assessments
- health and wellbeing data for Sheffield's wards and neighbourhoods
- annual Director of Public Health reports
Chapters include:

- maternal, child and young people's health
- disease and disability
- commercial determinants of health
