We operate a number of car parks in the city centre in addition to providing on-street parking.
Our parking machines continue to accept cash, but additional facilities to pay by chip and pin, or contactless cashless payments, are available. You can also pay by phone.
PayByPhone app
You need to download the PayByPhone app to make payments by phone.
Although PayByPhone have used QR code stickers on machines to make it easy to get the app, scammers have used similar stickers maliciously. For this reason, it's safer to pay through the app or the website.
Public holidays and city centre car parking
You don't need to pay to park in the on-street bays or in our car parks on public holidays. Other restrictions such as yellow lines and bus gates still apply.
Search our City Centre off-street parking map to find off-street parking in the city centre.
Search our On-street parking bays and motorcycle parking map to find on street parking bays and motorcycle parking in the city centre.
Restrictions are as follows:
- Monday to Sunday charging from 8am to 8:30pm – no time limits for parking on street
- Blue Badge holders and motorcycles can use pay and display parking for free
- single yellow lines – no parking from 8am to 8:30pm (unless adjacent signs show different times)

Motorcycle parking restrictions map
You can see current restrictions on our interactive map.
The map doesn't show:
- bus stops
- cycle tracks
- zig zag markings at road crossings
Some other restrictions that don't require a Traffic Regulation Order aren't shown on the map either. These include:
- HGVs being banned from parking on the footway
- vehicles parking more than 50cm from edge of carriageway
- parking in front of a kerb that is dropped (such as in front of a driveway or for pedestrians to cross)
- parking on a section of road that has been raised to be level with a footway, cycle track or verge
More information on restrictions can be found on our Civil Parking and Bus Lane Enforcement Policy page.
Always check signs at the time of parking in case of any changes, including temporary parking suspensions.
If you have a Blue Badge (disabled person's parking permit) you can park in one of our disabled parking bays.
You can search our City centre disabled parking bays map to find disabled parking bays in the city centre.
We have a map where you can view rapid charger locations in Sheffield car parks.
