Changing Places toilets are different to standard disabled toilets. They have extra features and more space to meet the needs of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
The toilets have a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench and a track hoist system, or mobile hoist if this is not possible.
There is adequate space in the changing area for the disabled person and up to two carers. The toilet is also centrally placed, with a screen or curtain to allow the disabled person and carer some privacy.
Please contact us if you find a problem with these toilets.
RADAR keys for disabled toilets
A RADAR key allows access to more than 9,000 disabled toilets in the UK.
You can apply for a RADAR key online from the Disability Rights websites, or by going to First Point in the city centre.
The cost for applications via the web or in writing is £5.40 (including VAT).
There are penalties for making false declarations. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should contact HMRC VAT advice before ordering a key with declaration from RADAR.
