On 24 February 2025, the rules that shape how public bodies buy goods and services will change.
The Procurement Act 2023 will introduce measures to improve and streamline the way procurement is done and benefit prospective suppliers of all sizes, particularly small businesses, start-ups and social enterprises.
You can find more information and guidance for suppliers to help you prepare and to support you as you begin to do business under the new regime.
The government has also developed animations and webinars to explain further about the new changes and provide the opportunity to ask questions.
Support for suppliers and business owners
'Knowledge drop' animations
The government has produced a series of three knowledge drops for existing suppliers and businesses wishing to work with contracting authorities through public, utilities or defence contracts.
The knowledge drops are animations that provide an overview of the new Procurement Act 2023.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of the new Act, please email the dedicated Transforming Public Procurement helpdesk at procurement.reform@cabinetoffice.gov.uk.
Webinars
To support readiness for the new regime, Cabinet Office is running two free webinars for suppliers and other interested parties in January 2025.
These sessions will focus primarily on what the key changes are, show a live demonstration of the central digital platform and explain how to register on the platform when bidding for future work. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions on your own preparations for 'go live'.
Cabinet Office will record the sessions and make a recording available via its web pages for those unable to attend.
Both sessions will be the same, so you only need to register to attend one using the links below:
