People in Sheffield are being asked to help choose names for the city’s fleet of gritters but with a local twist, as preparations for the upcoming winter season get underway.
From Tuesday 20 August some bin collections in Sheffield will be affected by a Veolia refuse collectors strike. Residents are asked to put their bins out before 7am on their scheduled collection day and leave them out until they are collected.
Work to transform a former Sheffield market site, which was once home to a medieval castle widely regarded as the birthplace of the city, has moved into phase two, with construction of the final public park starting to take shape.
From Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August, some bin collections in Sheffield will be affected by a Veolia refuse collectors strike. Veolia and the Council’s waste management team are working together to make sure there is as little disruption as possible.
